1. Introduction

These Lessons Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases of ebooks, bookings of French lessons, and participation in educational services provided by Your French Course.

By purchasing an ebook, booking a lesson, or participating in a course, you agree to these Terms.

These Terms apply to all students worldwide. Your French Course provides services exclusively to adult learners (individuals of 18 years old or older).

2. About Your French Course

Your French Course provides online French language learning services, including:

• individual French lessons;
• group French lessons;
• digital educational materials;
• ebooks and other learning resources.

Your French Course is operated from Belgium by Lucie Van den Broeck.

3. Booking and Payment

All ebook purchases and lesson bookings are processed through our official Payhip store “Your French Course Academy” at https://academy.yourfrenchcourse.com . When you click on a purchase or booking link, you will be redirected to the Payhip Store, where the transaction is completed in accordance with Payhip’s applicable terms, privacy policy, and payment procedures.

A booking or purchase is considered confirmed only once payment has been successfully completed.

Prices, payment methods, and available booking options are displayed through the Payhip platform.

Your French Course does not store complete payment card information. Payments are processed through third-party payment providers, including Stripe and PayPal, according to their own terms and privacy policies.

By completing a purchase or booking, you confirm that:

• the information provided is accurate;
• you are authorised to make the purchase;
• you accept these Terms.

Failure to complete payment may result in immediate suspension or termination of access to classes and materials.

4. Online Lessons

Lessons are delivered online using communication platforms such as:

• Google Meet;
• Microsoft Teams.

A meeting link will be provided to the student before the scheduled lesson.

The student agrees that:

• the lesson link is personal and must not be shared with another person;
• only the registered student may attend the lesson unless otherwise agreed in writing;
• the student is responsible for having a suitable device, microphone, camera, and internet connection;
• only individuals of eighteen (18) years old or older can be enrolled.

4.1 Private Lessons

Private lessons consist of one-hour live Google Meet (or Teams) sessions with Lucie Van den Broeck. Lessons may include personalized instruction, tailored exercises, and follow-up materials when applicable.

Private lessons are sold in a four-lesson package (4 lessons of 1h each) and must be used within 30 days from the first completed session (one lesson a week), unless otherwise agreed in writing. Unused lessons that exceed the applicable timeframe are considered as delivered and are not eligible for refund, credit, or rescheduled.

However, schedule changes may be considered on a case-by-case basis (for example, force majeure as illness, natural disaster, etc).

4.2 Group Classes

Group classes consist of live Google Meet (or Teams) sessions conducted over a defined schedule, 120-minute (2h) sessions weekly unless otherwise stated. Enrollment includes access to a private Google Classroom containing lesson materials, assignments, and other resources.

Beginner courses are taught primarily in English. Students must have sufficient English proficiency to follow instructions, participate in discussions, and engage with course materials.

5. Time Zones

Your French Course welcomes students from different countries and time zones.

All lesson times are displayed according to the time zone indicated at the time of booking.

Students are responsible for:

• checking the lesson time carefully;
• ensuring they understand the scheduled time in their own local time zone;
• joining the lesson at the agreed time.

Your French Course is not responsible for missed lessons caused by misunderstandings regarding time zone differences.

6. Cancelation Policy & Refunds

6.1 Private Lessons

For individual lessons, students may request a cancellation or rescheduling provided that notice is given at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson time.

If a student cancels or requests a change less than 48 hours before the lesson:

• the lesson will be considered delivered;
• the lesson fee will not be refunded;
• the lesson cannot be rescheduled.

Any rescheduled private lesson must take place within fourteen (14) calendar days of the original scheduled session date. If the rescheduled lesson is not completed within this timeframe, the session will be charged and not eligible for refund, credit, or further rescheduling.

6.2 Group Lessons

For group courses, cancellations must be requested at least 14 days before the start date of the course.

Requests made less than 14 days before the course begins are not eligible for a refund.

Once a group course has started:

• missed classes cannot be refunded;
• individual missed sessions cannot be transferred or credited;
• recordings of lessons will not be provided unless expressly stated otherwise.

Transfers to another course session may be considered when available and at the sole discretion of Your French Course.

6.3 No-Show Policy

If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson and has not cancelled within the required notice period, the lesson will be considered completed.

No refund, credit, or replacement lesson will be provided.

6.4. Late Arrivals

Students are expected to join lessons on time.

If a student arrives late:

• the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time;
• the missed time will not be added to another lesson;
• no refund or credit will be provided.

6.5. Teacher Cancellation

In exceptional circumstances, Your French Course may need to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

If this occurs, the student will be offered:

• a replacement lesson at a mutually convenient time or
• a refund for the cancelled lesson where appropriate.

6.6. Technical Issues

Your French Course aims to provide reliable online lessons.

If a lesson is significantly interrupted due to a technical problem on the teacher’s side, the missed time will be rescheduled at no additional cost.

If technical problems are caused by the student’s:

• internet connection;
• device;
• microphone;
• camera;
• software;
• personal technical setup;

the lesson will continue as scheduled and missed time cannot be recovered.

Students are responsible for checking that their equipment works before lessons begin.

6.7. Force Majeure

Your French Course shall not be responsible for delays, cancellations, or inability to provide services caused by events beyond reasonable control.

Such events may include, but are not limited to:

• illness;
• internet failures;
• power outages;
• natural disasters;
• government restrictions;
• emergencies;
• failures of third-party platforms;
• other unforeseen circumstances.

In such situations, Your French Course will make reasonable efforts to reschedule lessons or find an appropriate solution.

7. Ebook Purchases and Digital Products

Ebooks and other digital products purchased through Payhip are provided in electronic format.

Due to the nature of digital products:

• refunds are not available once the ebook has been downloaded;
• purchases cannot be returned;
• students are responsible for ensuring that their device supports the file format provided.

If a technical issue prevents access to a purchased digital product, students should contact Your French Course so that reasonable assistance can be provided.

8. Intellectual Property and Copyright

All educational materials provided by Your French Course remain the intellectual property of Your French Course.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• ebooks;
• PDFs;
• worksheets;
• exercises;
• lesson plans;
• presentations;
• vocabulary lists;
• activities;
• examples;
• written explanations;
• classroom materials.

All materials are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

Materials are provided for the student’s personal educational use only.

Students may not:

• record nor copy material;
• share materials online;
• upload materials to websites or social media;
• distribute materials to third parties;
• resell materials;
• reproduce materials commercially;
• create derivative educational products;
• use materials to provide competing language courses.

9. Confidentiality and Recording Policy

All information shared during lessons, including teaching methods, materials, exercises, examples, and classroom discussions, is considered confidential.

Students agree not to:

• share lesson content publicly;
• publish lesson materials online;
• distribute course content;
• share ebooks or educational resources with third parties.

Recording lessons is strictly prohibited.

Students may not make:

• audio recordings;
• video recordings;
• screen recordings;
• transcripts intended for redistribution;

without prior written permission from Your French Course.

Any authorised recording may only be used for the student’s personal learning purposes.

10. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Your French Course creates original educational content and teaching materials.

Students may not upload, copy, reproduce, or distribute any:

• lesson materials;
• ebooks;
• worksheets;
• exercises;
• presentations;
• classroom content;
• lesson discussions;

to artificial intelligence platforms or similar technologies for:

• training AI models;
• redistribution;
• publication;
• commercial use;
• creation of competing educational materials;
• creation of derivative learning products.

This includes, but is not limited to, platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, and similar services.

Any use of Your French Course materials with artificial intelligence tools beyond personal learning assistance requires prior written permission.

11. Respectful Conduct

Your French Course is committed to providing a safe and respectful learning environment.

Students must behave respectfully towards the teacher and other participants.

Your French Course reserves the right to end a lesson, refuse future bookings, or remove a participant from a course in cases involving:

• harassment;
• discrimination;
• abusive behaviour;
• threats;
• inappropriate conduct;
• disruption of the learning environment.

No refund will be provided where access is terminated due to a student’s misconduct.

12. Disclaimer Regarding Learning Results

Your French Course provides language education services but does not guarantee specific results.

We do not guarantee:

• achieving a specific French level;
• passing an exam;
• obtaining certification;
• professional or academic outcomes;
• fluency within a specific period.

Learning progress depends on many factors, including attendance, motivation, practice, and individual effort.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Your French Course shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use of our services.

This includes losses related to:

• missed opportunities;
• professional outcomes;
• technical difficulties;
• reliance on educational content.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Changes to These Terms

Your French Course may update these Lessons Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Changes will apply to future purchases and bookings and will be published with an updated “Last Updated” date.

Students are encouraged to review these Terms before purchasing new services.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium.

Any dispute relating to these Terms or services provided by Your French Course shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Belgium, unless mandatory legal provisions require otherwise.
